Your Experience

Chinook Pier, fishing charter

Our goal for the trip is to make sure you have an enjoyable time on Lake Michigan while finding as many fish as we can. We start our trip with a 30-40 minute ride out to the lake. When we arrive at the fishing grounds, the Captain and mate will set lines and begin trolling. This will be the time for you to sit back and relax while we wait for a fish to bite. When that happens, you’ll spring into action and reel in your catch. At the docks, the crew will clean and package your fish for your trip home.

What an awesome experience. If you want to have the time of your life book Sam and his team!!! Super nice boat, great equipment, wonderful people to have conversation with. This was a bucket list item for me, can’t wait to do it again!!!

Highly recommend Captain Sam and crew. They put us on fish right out of the gate and filled our cooler. Obviously you can’t guarantee fish in the boat but Sam and Mike worked hard to make sure we caught fish.
The boat was clean and very comfortable for 6 of us. Even when it rained we were all able to stay dry (except when we were reeling in fish). Will definitely book again next year!
— Mary Marshall
We caught our limit of King Salmon, which was awesome. Even better was the fun we had with our Captain Sam Emmons and his First Mate Will! Great guys that not only knew how to get us on fish, but we great instructors and guides for a mix of experienced and novice anglers. We’ve done 30+ charters, from Grand Haven and Florida and this was #1. We highly recommend Sam Emmons and Fish and Fowl!

Captain Sam and his 1st mate were like a well oiled machine springing into action at slightest hint of fish on. They took great interest in our success and shared with other captains what was working for everyone’s benefit. Fish were also expertly prepared for trip home.
— Gregory Anderson
Had a great time with Sam on the Lake this morning! Fishing has been tough, but we still managed to get a few kings in the boat. They know what they’re talking about and have the gear to be successful!
— Michael Moelker
I was impressed with Captain Samual immediately. He was ready his Charter boat was immaculately organized with everything having a specific place and purpose. It’s obvious safety is his top priority. Captain Samual was courteous and professional and knowledgeable as was his first mate Wyatt. Both worked their tails off and put us on to the catch! Boy did they. 12 hits, 8 catches. 7 Chinook, 1 fat Lake Trout and two tired left arms. It was Mission Accomplished Captain. The Mrs. Really loved the experience and is looking forward to doing it again.

Your Captain

Captain Sam, Fishing Charter in Grand Haven, MI

Captain Sam grew up fishing with his dad in Grand Haven, Michigan. At age of 14, Sam started working his first job on a charter boat. He continued to work on boats as a mate until he turned 19 and acquired his captains license. Captain Sam continued working as both captain and mate, seeking any opportunity to help customers get a large catch. In 2022, Captain Sam made the decision to go out on his own and buy his boat, “Fowl Hooked,” and start up his business, Fish N Fowl Guide Service.
